Dear Friends of Cleveland Baseball:
Last year was an exciting year for Cleveland Baseball. On the field,
we
took the 5A PIL title by beating the Roosevelt Roughriders 3 out of 5
games.
We then lost a very close game to the eventual semi-finalist
Pendleton
Buckaroos in the second round of the state playoffs. This year I
expect to
have a very young and energetic team. With only two seniors to anchor
the
program, a number of returning players will be expected to step up and
fill
leadership roles on the 2008 team. I've also seen a lot of young
talent
that will be competing for spots on our varsity roster as we try to
defend
the class 5A PIL title.
Off the field we are off to a great start with our fundraising efforts
this
year thanks to a group of dedicated board members. I feel very
fortunate to
work with such a great group of parents. We have also begun a
partnership
with Sellwood Junior Baseball in an effort to connect with the players
that
will be entering the program in the next few years. They are the
future of
Cleveland Baseball, and the future looks bright!
Many of you may be
receiving this e-mail as a result of that partnership and I want to
welcome
you as part of our Cleveland Baseball Community. If you ever have any
questions or needs please feel free to get in touch with me.
I would like to close by thanking all of you for your past support of
the
Cleveland Warriors Baseball program and to ask you to consider donating
a
portion of your Oregon Tax refund to the Cleveland Baseball program.
For
the first time, our budget includes a capital improvement fund which
will be
used in rebuilding the facilities at Powell Park in the coming years.
Your
tax free contribution can really make a difference.
If you can help in any way, please mail your tax deductible charitable
donation to:

Thanks again for your support, and go Warriors.
